Cape Waldron is an ice-covered cape in the East Antarctic Wilkesland , immediately west of the Totten Glacier . It separates the Budd coast in the west from the Sabrina coast in the east.
The American cartographer Gardner Dean Blodgett (* 1925) mapped it in 1955 using aerial photographs taken by the United States Navy during Operation Highjump (1946-47) under the direction of the American polar explorer Richard Evelyn Byrd . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the cape in 1955 after Richard Russel Waldron (1803-1846), paymaster of the sloop USS Vincennes , flagship of the United States Exploring Expedition (1838-1842) under the direction of the American polar explorer Charles Wilkes .
