St. Rasso (Schweingg)
St. Rasso is at the entrance to the hamlet Schweingg , a part of the Eisenberg community . The chapel belongs to the parish of St. Moritz in Zell .
history
Originally there was a simple wooden chapel in Schweingg, which stood on the hill to the west of the village. The place is marked with a cross on the floor plan. After this place of prayer became dilapidated, the farmer and miller Martin Roth († 1756) had a small chapel built across from his Schweingg No. 33 property. All the farmers in the Eisenberg districts of Schweingg, Stockach, Hummel and Oberdolden at that time did serf work and participated in the settlement of bills.
Holy Mass can be read in the St. Rasso chapel.
Furnishing
Several valuable figures were stolen from the old furnishings of the chapel during break-ins in the 20th century, including a statue of St. Rasso and in 1971 a St. Anna and a Maria Immaculata , which came from the middle of the 18th century and is attributed to the Pfronten sculptor Maximilian Hitzelberger (1704–1784).
Major renovations took place in 1992 (outside) and 1997/1998 (inside).
