Until the church is planted

The Eisenberg estate was originally owned by the von Hohenegg family. Heiress was his daughter Anna, who married Friedrich von Freyberg before 1376 .

In the 15th century, two independent property complexes split off: Approx. 1420 the rule Freyberg-Eisenberg-Hohenfreyberg with the bailiff in Zell and 1467 the rule Freyberg-Eisenberg-Hopferau with the bailiff in Hopferau. The Eisenberg bailiff lived in the small castle in Weizern. There the Barons of Freyberg-Eisenberg zu Eisenberg had set up a lower court for their domain.

With the Rheinbund act 1806 Eisenberg came to Bavaria and in the course of the Bavarian administrative reforms with the community edict of 1818 the present community was created.
