Westendorf is a municipality in the Swabian district of Ostallgäu and the seat of the administrative community Westendorf .
geography
The community of Westendorf, which consists of the towns of Dösingen and Westendorf, is located on the edge of the Allgäu , around eleven kilometers east of Kaufbeuren , in the northern part of the Ostallgäu district.
The municipality has three officially named municipal parts (the type of settlement is indicated in brackets ):
- Dösingen ( parish village )
- Hard ( wasteland )
- Westendorf (parish village)
history
Until the church is planted
Westendorf belonged to the Free Imperial City of Kaufbeuren . Since the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss of 1803, the place belongs to the Electorate of Bavaria . In 1818 the community was founded by the community edict in the Kingdom of Bavaria .
Incorporations
On May 1, 1978, the previously independent municipality of Dösingen was incorporated .

Westendorf grew by 387 inhabitants or approx. 27% from 1988 to 2008. Between 1988 and 2018 the municipality grew from 1425 to 1816 by 391 inhabitants or by 27.4%.

Mayor and City Council
Fritz Obermaier (United Voters 'Group Westendorf / Non-partisan Voters' Group) has been the mayor since May 1, 2014.
In the 2014–2020 electoral period, the municipal council has twelve members, two women and ten men.

Economy including agriculture and forestry
In 1998, according to official statistics, there were six in the field of agriculture and forestry , 126 in the manufacturing sector and eight in the trade and transport sector at the place of work. In other economic sectors, 87 people were employed at the place of work subject to social security contributions. There were a total of 561 employees at the place of residence subject to social security contributions. There were none in the manufacturing sector and four in the construction sector. In addition, in 1999 there were 34 farms with an agriculturally used area of 651 ha, of which 511 ha were permanent green space.
