House Kaplanei 1 is a listed building in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located in the historic Quedlinburger Neustadt on the corner of Pölkenstrasse . It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is listed as a residential building in the Quedlinburg Register of Monuments . Kaplanei 2 , which is also listed, is adjacent to the east .
Architecture and history
The two-storey half - timbered house was built around 1700. The façade has decorations that are typical of the construction period, such as profiled filler wood , ship throats and pyramid beam heads . The front door of the building is designed in the classicism style and dates from around 1820. Around 1905 an Art Nouveau shop was added to the ground floor .
