κ-yeast toxin 1 is a toxin from the scorpion Heterometrus fulvipes .
properties
Yeast butoxin is a protein and scorpion toxin from the scorpion Heterometrus fulvipes , as is κ-yeast toxin 2 . It slows down the activation of the potassium channel Kv1.3 / KCNA3 and inhibits Kv1.3 / KCNA3 and Kv1.2 / KCNA2 , but not Kv1.1 / KCNA1 . No structurally related proteins are known to the toxins κ-yeastutoxin 1 and 2.
