The Karacaören-2 dam ( Turkish Karacaören II Barajı ) is located in the Taurus Mountains 60 km north of Antalya in the Turkish province of Burdur .
The Karacaören-2 dam was built in the years 1988-1993 as a concrete gravity dam below the Karacaören-1 dam and dams the Aksu Çayı river . The dam is used for irrigation and energy generation . The dam is 49 m high and has a volume of 165,000 m³. The associated reservoir covers an area of 2 km² and has a storage volume of 48 million m³. The dam is used to irrigate an area of 19,330 ha.
The Karacaören-2 hydropower plant ( ⊙ ) down the valley is supplied with water from the reservoir via a 566 m long tunnel. The hydraulic potential is 105.5 m. The power plant has an installed capacity of 47.2 megawatts . The standard work capacity is 206 GWh per year.
