The Karatokoi ( Kyrgyz Каратокой , also Kara-Tokoi ) is a small mountain lake in the Chatkal Rajon of the Kyrgyz region of Jalalabat in Central Asia .
The lake is located in the northern part of the Chatkal Mountains on the northern slope of the mountain ridge at an altitude of 2876 m . The Karatokoi is located about 10 km north of the Sary Chelek Biosphere Reserve . The lake has a lengthwise extension in east-west direction of approx. 4 km. The water area is 1.1 km². In the west, the mountain lake is dammed up by a natural barrier. The lake is drained via the Karatokoi river of the same name, a left tributary of the Chatkal .
