The Karats , also Karatj (Sami Gárásj ) is a lake in the municipality of Jokkmokk in the Swedish province of Norrbotten County . The lake is 31.5 meters deep, has an area of 59.7 square kilometers and is 414 meters above sea level. The Karats is traversed by the Pärlälven. The Pärlälven belongs to the Luleälven water system via the Lilla Luleälven .

There are several very small settlements around the lake. The Karats settlement of the same name is located on a peninsula by the lake at the end of Länsväg BD 747. This settlement also has less than 50 inhabitants, so the SCB does not disclose any figures. Jokkmokk is about fifty kilometers to the southeast.
