Karel Štědrý
Karel Štědrý (born April 10, 1937 in Prague ; † November 7, 2017 there ) was a Czech singer, actor and presenter.
Life
Karel Štědrý, who graduated from the former railway college with a degree in civil engineering in 1960 without having ever practiced this profession, played after 1953 at the age of sixteen in the group of his brother Ivan Štědrý and other amateur bands. After meeting Jiří Suchý and Jiří Šlitr in 1958, he first appeared with them at the Reduta Theater and in 1959 was one of the founding members of the Semafor Theater with both of them .
During his time at Semafor he appeared in plays Člověk z půdy , Zuzana je zase sama doma , Taková ztráta krve and in others. He also recorded some hits, albeit not as a solo singer, but together with other singers, such as Takový je život and Kaňonem takhle k večeru . In 1962 Štědrý switched to the Rokoko Theater , where he stayed until 1972 and attracted attention as both a singer and an actor. After 1960 he also took on roles in several successful films, which he continued after 1972 when he left Rococo. He also moderated some music shows on television.
