Karel Glaser
Karel Glaser , also Karol Glaser and Karol Glazer (born February 3, 1845 in Kötsch near Marburg , † July 18, 1913 there ) was a Slovenian philologist and literary historian.
Glaser studied Slavic Studies and Classical Philology in Vienna from 1865 to 1868. In 1883 he received his doctorate as a Sanskritologist . His efforts to get a permanent university position were in vain. From 1889 he worked on his main work, published from 1894 to 1900, a history of Slovenian literature (Zgoovina slovnskega slovsva). Glaser also translated Shakespeare into Slovenian.
