Hoče-Slivnica ( German : Kötsch-Schleinitz ) is a municipality in the Spodnja Štajerska region in Slovenia .

Location and inhabitants

11,285 people live in the total community, which consists of 13 villages and hamlets. The main town Spodnje Hoče alone has 2,705 inhabitants and is located at 278 m. The municipality is located about 6.5 km south of the city center of Maribor . Its eastern half lies in the flat landscape of the "Dravsko polje" ( Draufeld ), while the western half is still one of the foothills of the Pohorje .

history

Evidence of settlement goes back to the 3rd millennium BC. The town was first mentioned in writing in 1146. The current community was founded in 1998.

Worth seeing

The 1500 m long lime tree avenue that leads to the Pohorski dvor farm is worth seeing .

economy

In July 2019 a painting center of the company Magna International was opened. Previously there had been a dispute over a law that should promote the settlement.
