Sveti Jurij v Slovenskih goricah ( German : Sankt Georg in den Windischen Büheln ) is a municipality in the Spodna Štajerska region in Slovenia .

geography

Sveti Jurij v Slovenskih goricah is located in the Slovenske gorice ( Windische Bühel ) at about 286  m. ü. A. and is located 5 km northwest of Lenart and 12 km northeast of Maribor . The region is characterized by rolling hills. The main town Jurovski Dol is located in the Globovnica valley ( Gogonitzbach ), other valleys are the Velka valley ( Velkabach ), the valley of the Gasterajski potok ( Gastereibach ) and the valley of the Partinjski potok. All these streams flow from northwest to southeast and flow into the Pesnica .

The entire municipality of Sveti Jurij v Slovenskih goricah, which previously belonged to the Lenart municipality , has been its own independent municipality since 2006.
