Karen Baumeister (born March 24, 1965 in Lünen ) is a former German volleyball player .
Career
Karen Baumeister started playing volleyball in her home country at Lüner SV . In 1982 she moved to Bundesliga club TV Hörde and in 1984 to German champions SV Lohhof , with whom she became German champions and cup winners in 1986 . Then the middle blocker played for the league competitor USC Münster until 1989 . In her most successful season, 1989/90, she was again German champion and cup winner with the CJD Feuerbach . In addition, she won the election for volleyball player of the year 1990. She then returned to Münster and won the DVV Cup again in 1991 .
Baumeister was German national volleyball player 170 times between 1984 and 1990 .
Private
Baumeister completed a degree in special education and sports as part of a teacher training course. She works in her own physiotherapy practice in Lünen.
