Kari Mikael Ketonen (born August 16, 1971 in Espoo ) is a Finnish actor .

Life

Kari Ketonen began studying at the Helsinki Theater Academy in 1991, graduating in 1997 with a master's degree in theater studies. He is also a trained psychotherapist.

With the war drama Pikkusisar staged by Taru Mäkelä , Ketonen made her debut in 1999 in a small supporting role as Olli. Since then he has played in over 60 film and television productions. For his portrayal of the pelican man in the children's film Pelikaanimies , he received a nomination for best leading actor for the national film prize Jussi in 2005 . Two further nominations for Best Supporting Actor followed each for his portrayal of Pikku-Mikko in the first two parts of Napapiirin sankarit , the first film of which was published in German as Heroes of the Arctic Circle .

Ketonen gained greater national and international fame in 2014 with his portrayal of Vladimir Putin in a television sketch. Among other things, this ensured that he was cast again in the same role for Iron Sky: The Coming Race .
