Kari Uglem (born May 16, 1970 ) is a former Norwegian cross-country skier and athlete .

Career

Uglem, who started for the Strindheim IL , ran her first individual World Cup race in Ulrichen in January 1993 , which she finished classically in 43rd place over 10 km. In March 1993 she won three races at the Continental Cup in Thunder Bay . In January 1994 she got her first World Cup points with the 27th place in the 15 km freestyle in Oslo . In the 1994/95 season she came in five World Cup appearances, twice in the points. In Lahti she achieved her best individual World Cup placement with tenth place over 10 km, and her best overall placement at the end of the season with 42nd place in the overall World Cup. In addition, she won second place with the relay in Nové Město . Her 16th and last World Cup individual race she completed in January 1996 in Nové Město, which she finished classically in 63rd place over 10 km. In 1994 she won the Norwegian championships over 10 km and in 1994 she also took third place over 5 km. With the season of Strindheim IL she was third in 1993, 1995 and 1996.

As a track and field athlete, Uglem was Norwegian champion in the 800 m in 1992 and 1996.
