Karim Fathi

Karim Fathi (* August 1979 in Hamburg ) is a German researcher , lecturer , consultant and author .

Life

Karim Fathi studied sociology at the Hamburg University of Economics and Politics from 2002 to 2005 , graduating with a degree in social economics. From 2005 to 2007 a master’s degree in peace and conflict research followed at the Philipps University of Marburg . In 2011 he received his doctorate at the Faculty of Cultural Studies of the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) on the subject of "Integrated conflict management in dialogue". Since 2012 he has been working as a freelance researcher , lecturer and consultant in Berlin .

Fathi is a research assistant at the European University Viadrina, where he conducts research on topics such as “systemic change” and “communicative complexity management”. He has taught communication ( interdisciplinary and intercultural ), organizational psychology , strategic competence management and change management at numerous universities , is a founding member of the Berlin Academy for Empathy and managing partner of the competence and training center Protectives . Since 2019 he has been a consultant in the future group of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research .

The focus of his advisory work and research are interrelated areas such as resilience promotion , decision-making , conflict management and process management .
