Karim To'laganov

Karim Toʻlaganov (also Karim Tulaganow ; born August 27, 1973 ) is a former Uzbek boxer . To'laganov was bronze medalist at the 1995 Asian Championships and the 1996 Olympic Games .

Career

amateur

In 1995 To'laganov took part in the middleweight division (-71 kg) at the World Championships , but was eliminated in the first fight against Gayath Tayfour, Syria (11: 8). In the same year he reached the semi-finals at the Asian Championships in Tashkent and won the bronze medal after a defeat against the eventual Asian champions Jermachan Ibraimow , Kazakhstan (8: 7). With this success To'laganov qualified for the 1996 Olympic Games , where he also won the bronze medal. In the course of the tournament he defeated Oscar Gomez, Argentina (RSC 3rd), Yared Wolde Mariam, Ethiopia (13: 9) and Rival Cadeau, Seychelles (RSC 1st), before he beat the eventual Olympic champion David Reid , [12 : 4), lost.

In 1997 To'laganov won the bronze medal at the World Military Championships in San Antonio .

professional

In 1999 To'laganov played his first professional middleweight fight, which he lost to Akmal Aslanov. After a year and a half break, he got back into the ring, but lost this fight by TKO in the second round against Sergey Tatevosyan. From the following three fights he won only one and ended his unsuccessful professional career in 2002.
