Yermachan Saghiuly Ybrajymow ( Kazakh Ермахан Сағиұлы Ыбрайымов ; born January 1, 1972 in the Shambyl region ) is a former Kazakh boxer.

career

Ybrajymow played his first international championship at the 1995 World Championships in which he was eliminated from the middleweight division (-75 kg) starting in the first fight against Zsolt Erdei , Hungary (8: 5). In the same year, however, he won in the light middleweight (-71 kg) the military world championships, u. a. with a win over Markus Beyer , Germany , and the Asian Championships.

1996 Ybrajymow took part in the Olympic Games in Atlanta and won after victories over Nick Farrell, Canada (15: 9), Hendrik Simangunsong, Indonesia (RSC 1st), and Markus Beyer (19: 9) and a semi-final defeat against Alfredo Duvergel , Cuba (28:19), the bronze medal in the light middleweight division (-71 kg). At the World Championships the following year he won the silver medal, where he u. a. Mohamed Hikal , Egypt (RSC 4th), struck, but Duvergel again had to admit defeat in the final (9: 7).

At the Asian Games in 1998, Ybrajymov won the gold medal and also won the Asian Championships the following year. Also in 1999 he started at the World Championships . Here he defeated u. a. Felix Sturm , Germany (5: 4), before losing to Jorge Gutiérrez , Cuba (12:11) in the semi- finals and thus won the bronze medal.

In 2000 Ybrajymow also took part in the 2000 Olympic Games . After victories over Youssif Massas, Syria (RSC 3rd), Hely Yanez, Venezuela (RSC 3rd), Juan Hernández , Cuba (16: 9), Jermain Taylor , United States (RSC 4th), and Marian Simion , Romania ( 25:23), he won the Olympic gold medal.
