Karin Garling (born November 4, 1959 in Daverden ) is a Bremen politician ( SPD ) and was a member of the Bremen Parliament .

biography

education and profession

After graduating from secondary school, Garling was trained as a nurse from 1982 to 1985. She was a nurse in Achim and Bremen from 1985 to 1998 and 1993 to 1995 . Between 1987 and 1988 she was a member of the staff council of the city of Achim, 1992/93 and from 1995 to 2003 a member of the staff council of the Bremen-Mitte Clinic . In 2002/2003 she trained as a mediator . Since 2004 she has been working in the quality management of the Bremer Klinikverbund Gesundheit Nord.

She is married and has two kids.

politics

Garling has been a member of the SPD since 1990. In 1995 she became a board member of the SPD local association Borgfeld and in 1998 SPD subdistrict delegate. Since 1995 she has been a member of the Committee for Social Affairs, Youth and Sport on the Borgfeld Advisory Board. In 2003 she became a member of the advisory board and committee spokesperson. From 2003 to 2007 and 2010 and 2012 she was a member of the state executive committee of the SPD in Bremen .

From October 20, 2003 to 2015 she was a member of the Bremen Citizenship (Landtag) and on November 10, 2005 also became a member of the Bremen Citizenship (City). She was environmental and energy policy spokeswoman, social policy spokeswoman and since 2011 cultural policy spokeswoman for the SPD parliamentary group and since 2011 also deputy chairwoman of the SPD parliamentary group.
She was represented in the committee for civic participation, civic engagement and advisory boards (city), committee for equality of women, budget and finance committee (city), auditing committee (city), special assets committee for infrastructure of the city of Bremen, constitution and rules of procedure committee, judges selection committee, non-permanent Committee to amend the state constitution, youth welfare committee, state youth welfare committee and in the works committees of the Bremen Music School, Bremen City Library and Bremen Adult Education Center , Bremen Workshop and the state and municipal deputation for culture.
