Karin Baroness von Ullmann , exactly Karin Florence Paula Alice Baroness von Ullmann de Baranyavár, born Freiin von Oppenheim (born March 9, 1922 in Cologne ; † June 1, 2009 ibid) was a German entrepreneur and owner of the Schlenderhan Stud .

Life

Karin von Ullmann was the daughter of Waldemar Freiherr von Oppenheim (d. 1952) and his wife Gabriele, geb. Goldschmidt (d. 1988). She belonged to the sixth generation of the founding family of the Sal. Oppenheim bank . She was married to Georg Baron von Ullmann , who was personally liable partner of the bank from 1952 until his death in 1972. Georg von Ullmann and Ilona came from the marriage , married to Matthias Graf von Krockow .

She became known as the owner of the Schlenderhan thoroughbred stud, founded by Eduard von Oppenheim in Bergheim in 1869 , which she inherited from her mother in 1988 and which she ran in the fourth generation. The gallops won 89 of the only five “classic races” each year. She was referred to as the "monarch of German thoroughbred sport" and in 2002 she received the Galopper Association's Golden Medal of Merit , the highest award in turf sport .

Von Ullmann was an honorary member of the Cologne racing club 1897 e. V.

According to the 2004 manager magazine , she was 25th among the 100 richest Germans with assets of 2.9 billion euros.
