Karl-Egon Lönne

Karl-Egon Lönne (born May 2, 1933 in Wevelinghoven , † August 20, 2006 ) was a German historian .

Karl-Egon Lönne was Professor of Modern History at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf . Among his main research interests was the Italian historian and philosopher Benedetto Croce . Lönne was also of considerable importance for research into the social and political history of German Catholicism and the Catholic milieu in the 19th and 20th centuries. He did his doctorate with Franz Schnabel .
