Karl-Fritz Daiber

Karl-Fritz Daiber (born in Ebingen in 1931 ) is a German practical theologian , sociologist of religion and retired professor at the Philipps University of Marburg .

Life

Daiber studied Protestant theology and sociology in Tübingen and Erlangen from 1951 to 1955. He was parish priest in Creglingen / Tauber from 1958 to 1971. In Erlangen, from 1962 to 1967, he completed an extra-occupational degree in sociology. In 1967, with the theme of the culture as a social system to Dr. phil. doctorate and habilitation in 1972 in the field of practical theology in Göttingen.

From 1971 to 1996 Daiber was the head of the pastoral sociological department of the Evangelical Lutheran. Regional Church of Hanover. Since 1988 he has also been a professor for practical theology and sociology of religion at the University of Marburg. After his retirement he was visiting professor in South Korea . between 1997 and 2018 and he undertook research trips to East Asia, Indonesia and above all to the People's Republic of China .

From 2000 to 2006 Daiber was a lecturer in the sociology of religion at the religious studies seminar at the University of Hanover .

Focus of work

The focus of research in the subject of practical theology was the theory of practical theology, homiletics , diaconal studies and problems of church development. In the sociology of religion subject, Daiber addressed the religious situation in Germany and in countries in East Asia. Most recently he dealt with religious Confucianism in the People's Republic of China.
