Karl-Heinz Frieden (* 1957 in Trier ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

After elementary and secondary school (Mittlere Reife 1973) he attended the Auguste-Viktoria-Gymnasium Trier and passed his Abitur there in 1976. From 1977 to 1981 he studied agricultural sciences at the Georg-August-University in Göttingen and the Rheinische-Friedrich-Wilhelms-University in Bonn with a degree in agricultural engineering. In 1984 he received his doctorate as an agricultural scientist.

His career path led him to the Koblenz wine-growing department: there he headed the department for the Ahr , Middle Rhine , Mosel-Saar-Ruwer and Nahe growing regions . From 1991 he headed the vocational school for agriculture and viticulture - advice and training center - in Bernkastel-Kues, and from 1994 to 2006 the Wittlich viticulture office of the Rhineland-Palatinate Chamber of Agriculture.

From 1990 to 2006 Karl-Heinz Frieden was the local mayor of the Nittel community . He has been a member of the Trier-Saarburg district council since 1994 . He holds a variety of local honorary offices.

From November 9th, 2006 to September 30th, 2008 he was the first full-time alderman of the Verbandsgemeinde Konz and was its mayor since October 1st, 2008 and at the same time honorary city ​​mayor in Konz .

On January 23, 2017, he was elected the new managing director of the Rhineland-Palatinate Association of Municipalities and Cities . He began work on January 1, 2018 and at the same time resigned from his mayorship. Joachim Weber was elected as his successor .
