Karl-Heinz Kahl

Karl-Heinz Kahl (born July 17, 1927 , † September 11, 1983 in Berlin ) was a German motorboat racing driver and entrepreneur.

From 1960 until his death, the man from Hamburg drove motorboat races in the 350 cm³ outboard racing boat class. He achieved about 80 victories at home and abroad. At the start of the race in Berlin-Gatow he succumbed to a stroke .

Kahl preferred to drive boats from the GDR boat building company "Danisch" and engines from the (West) Berlin manufacturer "König".

Karl-Heinz Kahl grew up in Hamburg-Farmsen and had a twin sister. In the 1950s he took over the furniture manufacturing company Otto Kahl & Söhne GmbH in the third generation. Kahl was the owner and managing director of the company until his death.

He was the father of two children. Peter Kahl (1950) and Silke Kahl (1955).
