Career

At the age of twenty, Hensiek became a member of the NSDAP (1934–1945), belonged to the General SS from 1934–1939 with the rank of Rottenführer and from 1939–1945 to the Waffen SS . He fought on different fronts, including a. in the French campaign (1940-41), in the Russian campaign (1941-44) and in Holland (June 1944 - October 1944) in the 3rd SS Panzer Division 'Totenkopf' , most recently as SS-Hauptsturmführer (captain), highly decorated with the Iron Cross 1st Class (EK I) , the German. Cross in gold and the silver melee clasp .

In contrast to his son, Hensiek's father is said to have been anti-fascist. The certificates of repute in the denazification process of KH Hensiek (1947–1948), for example that of the general manager of Buer, Johannes Fürhoff, as well as those of his employees and workers, were consistently praiseworthy. He certainly knew nothing about the crimes of the SS and was not a Nazi. After the war, Hensiek was imprisoned in the Neuengamme internment camp until December 3, 1947 . It was here that he was first classified in Category III (major promoter of National Socialism) with a simultaneous freeze on property and a ban on the profession. However, a verdict in court against him resulted in an acquittal in 1947.

Hensiek's brickworks in Barkhausen near Buer resumed operations from Whitsun 1948. The denazification committee of the Melle district downgraded Hensiek on August 25, 1948 from III to IV (without restrictions) as a simple Nazi supporter. In this context, it was important to note that “the Hensiek company was one of the few in which the workforce consistently did not belong to the party”.

After the reintegration into working life, the honoraria in Buer Hensiek took up their circle again. In addition to the successful management of Burton GmbH Melle, today Refratechnik , Hensiek was z. B. Member of the Schützengesellschaft Buer von 1550 e. V. and became king of the marksmen there in 1964. He lived in Buer until his death.
