The Karl-Marx monument in Frankfurt (Oder) is one in 1968 in memory of Karl Marx created monument . It stands on the edge of Lennépark on Karl-Marx-Straße.

At the end of the 1960s, a monument to Karl Marx was to be created “at the northern entrance to the central area of ​​the city” on the extra-wide “Magistrale”, which had been called Karl-Marx-Strasse since July 14, 1952. The cast of the bronze bust created by Fritz Cremer in 1954, which has been in the possession of the city for a long time, “should be placed in such a way that it has a great social impact”. On February 7, 1968, the city council decided in favor of the design by the Frankfurt artist Arnd Wittig . The center of the ensemble, which was designed by Arndt Wittig and city architect Manfred Vogler and is now a listed building on a three-tier raised terrace, is the approximately 1.20 meter tall bust of Karl Marx. Behind it is an approximately 9-meter-high column with the text of the modified Marx quotation designed by Wittig, “Theory became material violence”. The stele and the base were made by VEB Betonwerk, the masonry work was carried out by VEB Baureparaturen and the prefabricated retaining wall was carried out by Lemm. Despite the short time, the facility was completed on time and was inaugurated on the morning of May 5, 1968, for the 150th birthday of Karl Marx.

The monument was included in the list of monuments of the state of Brandenburg.
