Karl-Richard Jauns

Karl-Richard Jauns (born October 27, 1922 in Braunschweig ; † July 22, 1990 in Soest ) was a German painter, graphic artist and sculptor.

Life

Karl-Richard Jauns began studying art in 1937 at the Braunschweig School of Applied Arts as a student of Hugo Kämmerer . He had to interrupt his studies when he was called up for military service in 1940, but was able to continue his artistic studies in 1942 during a stay in Prague at the art academy there with Heinrich Hönich . In 1943 he was a visiting student in the Atelier Carpentier in Paris . After the war, he continued his training in Braunschweig. From 1947 to 1949 he studied at the Werkkunstschule Braunschweig with Heinrich Ernst , Bruno Müller-Linow and Paul Egon Schiffers . In 1968 he received a scholarship from the Münster “Aldegrever Society”.

He was able to show his work in numerous solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad. Thanks to funding purchases by the federal and state governments, his works came into public collections, and they are also represented in private collections.
