Karl Abt (painter)
Karl Abt (born December 18, 1899 in Pforzheim ; † November 28, 1985 ibid) was a German painter .
Life
At the age of twelve, the son of a jewelry technician began to paint oil paintings. In order to promote his talent, his parents made it possible for him to attend the Pforzheimer Kunstgewerbeschule . Abts mother, in particular, campaigned for his artistic support. In 1917 Karl Abt was called up for military service and therefore had to finish his artistic training.
After the end of the First World War , Abt began an apprenticeship as a jeweler at the request of his father . He continued his artistic training years later, namely in 1928 at the State Art School in Karlsruhe . From 1935 Karl Abt worked as a freelance artist in Pforzheim. The artist was best known for his landscape painting and paintings of flowers.
He was buried in the main cemetery in Pforzheim .
