Karl August von Faber

Karl August Friedrich Faber , from 1841 by Faber , (born September 8, 1782 in Zaisersweiher ; † April 18, 1850 in Reutlingen ) was a German theologian.

After studying Protestant theology in Tübingen, Karl August Faber began his professional career in 1802 as a master's degree. In 1812 he succeeded his father as parish administrator and later as pastor in Zaisersweiher. In 1821 he became pastor in Altenstadt (Oberamt Geislingen), at the same time dean of the Diocese of Geislingen. From 1822 to 1831 he was also pastor of Eybach . In 1832 he went to Reutlingen as dean, and in 1839 he became prelate and general superintendent in Hall . From 1841 he was Reutlingen prelate and general superintendent with official seat in Stuttgart. Karl August von Faber died of a heart attack on an official trip.

The general superintendents of the Protestant regional church were privileged members of the second chamber of the Württemberg state parliament by virtue of their office . That is why Faber entered the state parliament in 1839 after his appointment in Hall. He held the office until 1849.

family

Karl August Faber was the son of the pastor Karl Friedrich Faber (1742-1812) from Zaisersweiher and the Regina Sophie Friederike Speidel. In 1819 he married Charlotte Haug, the daughter of a Stuttgart law firm. With her he had the two daughters Friedericke (1820-1845) and Charlotte (1821-1846) as well as the three sons Eduard (1822-1907), who was Justice Minister of the Kingdom of Württemberg from 1883 to 1896, Karl (* 1828, 1872 to 1880) Pastor in Möckmühl ) and Gustav (1829–1871, district judge in Stuttgart).

Honors

The Knight's Cross of him was in 1841 the Order of the Württemberg Crown granted that with the personal title of nobility ( ennoblement ) was associated.
