Karl Bäßler (architect)

Karl Bäßler (born April 23, 1888 in Memmingen ; † April 4, 1973 in Munich ) was a German architect .

Life

Bäßler studied architecture at the Technical University of Darmstadt and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden. Under German Bestelmeyer , he planned the extension of the Technical University of Munich , the student house on Luisenstrasse and the study building of the German Museum . As a freelance architect, he created other residential and industrial buildings, including the motor vehicle hall of the Deutsches Museum.

In 1933 Oskar von Miller appointed him as administrative director at the Deutsches Museum, whose reconstruction he led after the Second World War.
