Karl Brändle (born July 12, 1920 in Arbon ; † February 18, 2014 in Meilen ) was a Swiss mountain railway pioneer .

After he went into business for himself, Brändle took over the competitor Sameli-Huber in 1953, which had the patent of the ski lift inventor Ernst Constam from 1931. Brändle built numerous ski and chair lifts throughout Switzerland in the 1950s and 1960s . He also built railways abroad, including a railroad similar to the VR101 in Sweden in 1967 in the Kolmården zoo , which was in operation until 2010, and in Israel , where in 1971 he built the deepest cable car in the world with the Masadabahn .

In 1969 Brändle sold his company to Habegger AG in Thun , where he worked as sales manager until his retirement. He then worked as a consultant.
