Karl Brdlik

Karl Brdlik (born November 2, 1874 in Linz , † May 17, 1948 in Heiligenstadt in Upper Franconia ) was a Sudeten German teacher and local researcher.

Brdlik studied at the teacher training college in Budweis . In 1895 he became a teacher in Gojau , later a senior teacher and head of the local elementary school. He dealt in detail with the prehistory of the southern Bohemian Forest and published his research in several publications. His theories include the view that the Bohemian Forest was not an impenetrable protective wall for Bohemia in prehistoric times, but was crossed by several trade routes.
