Karl Dewanger

Karl Dewanger (born October 1, 1897 in Purkersdorf , † May 19, 1944 in Graz ) was an Austrian politician ( CSP / ÖVP ) and undertaker. Dewanger was a member of the Federal Council in 1934, from 1934 to 1938 a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament and its second president.

Dewanger attended grammar school and studied law at the University of Vienna . Subsequently, Dewanger worked as an entrepreneur and undertaker in Purkersdorf. In 1932 Dewanger became head of the general industrial cooperative and created its own undertaker's cooperative. Dewanger rose to the federal guild master and was executive councilor in Purkersdorf. Dewanger represented the Christian Social Party from April 27, 1934 to May 2, 1934 in the Federal Council and was a member of the state parliament from November 22, 1934 to March 12, 1938 as a trade representative. Dewanger was also second President of the State Parliament during this time.
