Karl Erdmann (also Carl Erdmann ) was a German road cyclist .

Athletic career

On August 16, 1908, Karl Erdmann took fifth place among the amateurs, 4:33 minutes behind the winner of the classic road race “ Around Berlin ”. Although he came from Trebbin , he drove for the Askania Dessau club . A few weeks earlier, he had finished seventh in the Harz Tour . In 1910 he won “Around Berlin” on the 245-kilometer route Barnim - Oranienburg - Mittenwalde - Kleinmachnow as the fastest of 323 amateurs with a time of nine hours, 3 minutes and 57 seconds; The winner of the 25 professionals was Karl Saldow , who only needed around three minutes less for the route (9 hours, 20 seconds). In the same year Erdmann came second in the fourth edition of “ Rund um die Hainleite ” and crossed the finish line at the same time as Gustav Schulze, also from Trebbin (9:22:08).

On August 13, 1911, Erdmann was sixth in the 254-kilometer race “Rund um die Hainleite” (9:28:05, together with eight other drivers). Just a week later, on August 19, 1911, he started as a professional driver in the almost 600 kilometer long “ Vienna-Berlin ” race and finished ninth after about 28 hours of driving.
