Karl Ernst Tielebier-Langenscheidt

Karl Ernst Tielebier-Langenscheidt (born July 27, 1921 in Berlin ) is a German publisher .

Life

Tielebier-Langenscheidt, a great-grandson of the publisher's founder Gustav Langenscheidt , joined Langenscheidt Verlag in 1948 . In 1951 he became a personally liable partner and in 1952 the successor to his grandfather Carl Langenscheidt . Under Tielebier-Langenscheidt's aegis, Langenscheidt KG was expanded to include travel and electronic media. With the participation in the publishing house Bibliographisches Institut and FA Brockhaus AG (1988) the publisher laid the foundation stone for the expansion of the Langenscheidt publishing group in the areas of knowledge and the German language. In 1981 Tielebier-Langenscheidt brought his older son Andreas Langenscheidt (* 1952) into the company, who became managing and personally liable partner and his successor in 1990. His younger son Florian Langenscheidt (* 1955) voluntarily retired from the operational management of the Langenscheidt publishing group in 1994, but initially continued to be a limited partner in the Langenscheidt publishing group. At the beginning of 2013 the publisher was sold to Günther Holding GmbH.
