Karl Etlinger (politician)

Karl Etlinger (born December 13, 1895 in Zehetgrub ; † April 14, 1959 in Scheibbs ) was an Austrian politician ( CS / ÖVP ). Etlinger was a member of the state parliament of Lower Austria and a member of the Federal Council .

Life

Etlinger attended the six-class elementary school in Steinakirchen am Forst and then graduated from an agricultural college. He then worked as a farmer in Altenhof near Steinakirchen am Forst. He was awarded the professional title of Economics Council. Between 1917 and 1918 Etlinger did his military service in the First World War.

Between 1919 and 1925, Etlinger held the position of leader of the Reich Association of Catholic-German Youth in Austria and between 1924 and 1938 and from 1945 to 1959 he was mayor of Ausserochsenbach , today a cadastral community of Steinakirchens. In addition, from 1945 to 1950 he took over the post of chairman of the district chamber of farmers and of the Scheibbs district farmers' council . Etlinger was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from May 21, 1932 to October 30, 1934 as a representative of the Christian Social Party and represented the ÖVP there from December 12, 1945 to November 10, 1954 after the Second World War. Etlinger was then a representative of Lower Austria in the Federal Council, of which he was a member from November 10, 1954 until his death on April 14, 1959.
