Karl Fachleutner
Karl Fachleutner (born March 23, 1921 in Puch ; † September 8, 2006 in Znojmo , Czech Republic ) was an Austrian farmer, economist and politician ( ÖVP ).
Life
After attending compulsory schools and the agricultural training school, he was mayor of Puch from 1950 to 1970. He also held the post of chief district party chairman of the ÖVP Hollabrunn from 1962 to 1981, chairman of the Lower Austrian Chamber of Agriculture, Hollabrunn district from 1968 to 1976, and chairman of the Austrian farmers' union, Hollabrunn district in 1971. He was also from June 4, 1959 to Member of the Federal Council on December 14, 1962 and member of the National Council from December 14, 1962 to December 16, 1986.
Awards
- 1978: Great Silver Medal of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria
- 1983: Great Gold Medal for Services to the Republic of Austria
