Karl Friedl (politician)

Karl Friedl (born June 27, 1884 in Stammersdorf ; † April 14, 1955 ibid) was an Austrian butcher, innkeeper and politician ( ÖVP ). Friedl was a member of the Austrian National Council from 1945 to 1949 .

Friedl attended eight-year elementary school in Stammersdorf and completed an apprenticeship as a butcher. He subsequently worked as a butcher and master butcher as well as an innkeeper. Friedl was awarded the professional title of Commercial Councilor.

Friedl was a member of the Stammersdorf municipal council from 1919 to 1938 and a member of the administrative board of the trade association between 1922 and 1936. From 1926 to 1938 he was a member of the Chamber of Commerce in Vienna and from 1934 to 1938 he was deputy mayor of Stammersdorf. Between 1936 and 1938 Friedl also held the function of the butcher's guild master in Lower Austria. Friedl was deputy chairman of the regional trade association in Lower Austria and represented the ÖVP in the National Council between December 19, 1945 and November 8, 1949.

His grave is at the Stammersdorfer Zentralfriedhof (group 6, number 3).
