Karl Friedrich Mess

Karl Friedrich Mess (born July 2, 1921 ; † December 20, 2011 in Stuttgart ) was a German flautist .

Life

In 1949 Karl Friedrich Mess joined the former symphony orchestra of the Süddeutscher Rundfunk (now the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra of the Südwestrundfunk ) as a solo flutist .

In 1966 Mess became a chamber musician and in 1975 he was appointed professor at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts as director of a flute class . One of his students was the flautist and university professor Wally Hase .

Mess was a longstanding board member of the German Orchestra Association .

Karl Friedrich Mess performed as a musician for the last time in 2007; afterwards he worked in the documentary traces in the void - The conductor Carlos Kleiber (2010), where he commented on a rehearsal recording by Kleiber from 1970.
