Karl Friedrich Wilhelm Albrecht

Karl Friedrich Wilhelm Albrecht (born June 16, 1819 in Dessau , † October 20, 1904 in Steglitz ) was a local politician in the then still independent municipality of Steglitz , now part of Berlin.

Life

Albrecht was from 1875 to 1884 municipal councilor of Steglitz. As a local councilor, he made a contribution to the Steglitz railway station . Albrechtstrasse in Steglitz was named after him before 1870.

Albrechtshof 1863–1967

In 1863 Albrecht built the Albrechtshof on Schloßstraße , a multi-purpose building with a hotel, restaurant and theater. In 1871 he planted the peace oak in front of his property to commemorate the victories of 1870/71 , which is still standing today.

The Albrechtshof-Lichtspiele cinema was located in the area of ​​the building he built from 1912 to 1967 . Then the entire complex was demolished and built on the property of the Steglitz roundabout .
