Großbocka is a district of Bocka in the Greiz district in Thuringia .

Groß- and Kleinbocka are located close to each other to the west of Bundesstraße 2 and east of Münchenbernsdorf in a hilly area for arable farming and cattle breeding. Großbocka is the larger of the two suburbs and is located a little north of Kleinbocka.

history

Großbocka was first mentioned in a document on September 24, 1267, while Kleinbocka was first mentioned in 1351. Since 1992 the village church has been called St. Thomas . It emerged from the medieval church in 1753–56. On July 1, 1950, the municipality of Bocka was created through the merger of the former municipalities of Großbocka and Kleinbocka. In 1953 an LPG was founded in the farming village . After the fall of the Wall , two residential areas were developed in the place. They were created on the Höllenberg and on the Scheitberg .
