The Evangelical Lutheran village church of St. Thomas is located in Großbocka , a district of Bocka in the Greiz district in Thuringia . St. Thomas is part of the parish Großbocka the parish Münchenbernsdorf in the parish of Gera the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The church, which is essentially medieval and rebuilt from 1753 to 1756, has a square choir tower . The two upper floors are octagonal and the bell hangs in them . A baroque, curly hood sits on it . The foundations of the Romanesque apse in the east were exposed during the restoration between 1987 and 1992. When it was rededicated in 1992, the church was named St. Thomas. The nave has galleries on three sides . The ceiling of 1753 was decorated with stucco haunches . The church has a simple baroque church facilities . There is a baroque crucifix . In 1988 the pulpit altar was removed. His basket now stands on the southern projection of the wall between the nave and the choir .

The organ with 8 registers , divided into 2 manuals and pedal , was built by Gustav Heinze in 1938 and rebuilt in 2007 by Schönefeld Organ Builders using old, usable pipes .
