La Piedad de Santa Liestra

La Piedad de Santa Liestra ( Catalan La Pietat de Santa Llestra ) is the chapel of a hermitage in Santaliestra y San Quílez , a municipality in the Spanish province of Huesca in the autonomous region of Aragon ; she was in the 12./13. Century erected. The church, one kilometer outside of the village in the direction of Benasque , is a protected architectural monument ( Bien de Interés Cultural ).

That of Our Lady of Sorrows ( Pietà ) consecrated church nave and concludes with a semicircular apse . The small Romanesque church has an open bell gable ( espadaña ) (without bells), which, curiously, was added to the side of the church. Usually such a bell gable sits on the facade , less often on the roof of the church.
