Karl Götzinger

Karl Götzinger (born January 10, 1913 in Vienna ; † July 5, 1987 ) was an Austrian geologist .

Götzinger, nephew of Gustav Götzinger , studied geology at the University of Vienna since 1931 and was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD. From 1937 he worked as a petroleum geologist for Deutsche Erdöl AG . From 1958 he worked for the Österreichische Mineralölverwaltung AG , in 1964 he became its chief geologist. In 1969 Götzinger was appointed a corresponding member of the Federal Geological Institute . In 1974 he retired. In 1977 the Austrian Federal President awarded him the title of Professor .
