Karl Hahn (political scientist)

Karl Hahn (born November 2, 1937 in Zipplingen (Unterschneidheim) ) is a German political scientist and university professor .

Life

Hahn studied political science and history , philosophy and education at the Free University of Berlin , the University of Tübingen and the LMU Munich as well as at the PH Schwäbisch Gmünd . In 1968 he was at Hans Maier with the dissertation to State Education and Science at JG Fichte to Dr. phil. PhD. He then worked as a research assistant at the PH Berlin before moving to the Institute for Political Science at RWTH Aachen University in 1971 . There he completed his habilitation in political science in 1974 with the work of Proudhon's theory of democracy. Studies on the social-republican-federative concept of democracy.

From 1974 Hahn was a full professor at the Aachen Department of the PH Rheinland , which was incorporated into RWTH Aachen University in 1980. In 1988 he accepted an appointment at the University of Münster , where he stayed until his retirement in 2003.

Hahn deals with the history of political ideas from antiquity to modern times , research on totalitarianism , the theoretical foundations of peace and conflict research, and political education .
