Life

Hansen received his doctorate in 1928 under Gustaf Deuchler at the University of Hamburg. Then he was there from 1930 to 1937 Scientific Council at the Pedagogical Institute. His monograph The Problems of Speech Therapy Schools in Their Historical Development was an important theoretical summary of the state of speech therapy education in Germany. In 1937 he became professor for youth and character studies at the Hamburg University for Teacher Training . Because he could not prove his " Aryan certificate " in full, he was not taken over by the teacher training institute after the dissolution of the HfL in 1941 , but transferred back to the University of Hamburg. He worked there until the 1950s. In November 1933 he signed the German professors' confession of Adolf Hitler .
