Karl Hatzfeld

Karl Hatzfeld (born September 18, 1876 ; † 1956 ) was mining captain at the Dortmund Oberbergamt and head of the mine safety office in the Prussian Ministry of Trade and Industry.

Life

Karl Hatzfeld did his military service as a one-year volunteer and was a lieutenant in the reserve in the St. Wendel Landwehr district . After passing the two state examinations, he became a mountain assessor at the Bonn Mining Authority . Before he had to do military service from 1914 to 1918 , he was an unskilled worker at the Saarbrücken Knappschaftsverein and an assistant teacher at the mountain school in Saarbrücken. After the war, he was initially employed as a laborer in the Prussian Ministry of Trade and Industry. In 1920 he became a mountain master and in the following year Bergrat or Oberbergrat. His appointment as Ministerialrat and head of the mine safety office in the ministry fell in 1922. In 1928 he was promoted to ministerial director and in the following year appointed miner at the Dortmund Oberbergamt .

In 1933, Hatzfeld retired. During this time he worked as a lecturer at the Technical University of Berlin and as President of the German Salt Federation.
