Karl Hauff

Karl Hauff (born August 7, 1908 in Arbon , Switzerland ; † September 22, 1987 in Morges , Switzerland) was a German trade unionist and politician of the SPD .

Life and work

Hauff attended elementary school in Bellikon TG and then completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith. After moving in 1927, he settled in Stuttgart and worked for Daimler-Benz AG from 1934 . He joined IG Metall , was a member of the works council from 1946 and chairman of the works council of Daimler-Benz AG from 1955 to 1973. As such, he had been a member of the company's board of directors since 1956.

politics

Hauff joined the SPD in 1931. He was a member of the state parliament of Württemberg-Baden from 1950 to 1952 and was then elected to the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg , of which he was a member until 1976.
