Karl Heinz Kenn

Karl Heinz Kenn (born November 22, 1926 in Homberg / Niederrhein ; † February 20, 2000 ) was a German politician and member of the state parliament ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending primary school , he completed an apprenticeship as a technical draftsman . Until 1950 he worked as a designer in bridge construction. He continued his education at evening schools and studied from 1950 to 1953 at the state engineering school for mechanical engineering in Duisburg with an engineering degree . After that, Kenn worked as a designer, structural engineer and project engineer.

He had been a member of the SPD since 1955 and of IG Metall since 1946. He was active in various party committees, u. a. as second chairman of the Duisburg sub-district and as a member of the state committee of the SPD NRW. He was also a member of the workers' welfare organization .

MP

From May 28, 1975 to May 30, 1990, Kenn was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was directly elected in the constituencies 042 Moers II and 068 Duisburg III.

He was a member of the city ​​council of the city ​​of Homberg from 1961 to 1974 and a member of the district council of the district of Moers at the same time.

Honors

Kenn was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class and on June 4, 1993 the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia .
